We are located in the heart of historic downtown Dunsmuir California in a magnificent 1920’s Arts and Craft Style building. Before the Cornerstone was established in 1998 the building hosted a hardware store, a pharmacy and a florist. On the corner of Dunsmuir Avenue and Pine Street, the café is a natural gathering place for our community. The outside patio is a perfect spot for guests and well-behaved dogs to enjoy a breakfast or lunch.

Known up and down the I-5 corridor for hearty quality breakfast and lunch, the Cornerstone takes pride in serving our customers delicious, homemade food from the freshest ingredients. The best water on earth combined with freshly ground French Roast beans brew a truly memorable cup of coffee! Our servers and baristas will happily prepare an espresso, latte, mocha or Americano. We grind Peet’s beans. When you’re in a hurry, grab a latte and a heavenly homemade pastry for the road.

We love mimosa’s and offer carafes and glasses of either classic orange juice or home made ginger-lemonade. Celebrate the day with a split of champagne, a glass of California wine or six rotating taps featuring microbrews from the north state.

We take great pride in our menu. When we can’t source a needed product that’s up to our standard, we just make our own.  That’s why we make so many items from scratch!

Great food and service! The omelet and all the ingredients were incredibly fresh, the bacon was done to perfection, and my mocha was delicious.

Exceptional service and food. Great coffee; baked goods really fresh and delicious and the food was highest quality. I had the Truckstop Scramble and my wife the Garden Scramble. All the ingredients were perfectly prepared and it’s clear that a lot of thought has been put into the recipe. Go here. You won’t be disappointed. Hall of Fame meal.

Great food and great people here! My personal favorites are the Eggs Benedict and the truckstop scramble. Service is always fast and food is always good. Deb and crew will make sure you’re full and happy by the time you leave.

We had the California omelette this morning and it was fabulous ! I added hatch chiles and hub added meat-we were both extremely impressed. Mine was just spicy enough, eggs were cooked perfectly and the avocado was at the perfect ripeness. We heard about the origin of dunsmuir’s great water, and enjoyed fish themed artwork on the walls. Service was efficient and friendly-they worked together as a team. I can’t imagine driving by on I-5 and not stopping at Cornerstone Cafe.

The Cornerstone Café has been under new ownership for a little over a year. The building has been updated and is attractive and inviting. The interior is comfortable, the wait staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is great! We found this gem last fall and we were happy to see it was busy and thriving a year later! We look forward to returning whenever we travel north on I-5.

We stopped in for breakfast on a Monday and were so happy with our morning breakfast. The ladies serving us were attentive, friendly, and reflect so much of the small town ambiance. Wife had the portobello veggie omelet and I had the truckers scramble and both were delicious. We each had their harvest muffin which had a careful blend of carrots, raisins, coconut into a delicious freshly baked muffin. So good we ordered three more muffins to go. This cafe is building a loyal following because the food
